AACME is back and you're invited! Come celebrate the maker movement with skills from across the last hundred years from pinhole photography to modern robotics! Enjoy hands-on demos from local maker spaces, learn about ham radio, solder an LED badge, try out an interactive sound installation, and so much more! And this year we are building our own Maker City live at AACME and you are invited to be your own architect, engineer, and builder. All ages and abilities are welcome.
AACME Schedule of Events
11am - 1pm
Drop-in LED Badge Soldering
Drop in and learn a bit of soldering to make your very own light-up Secret Lab badge! Due to the use of soldering irons, we recommend that children be accompanied by an adult.
11am - 3pm
Five Thousand Dominos
Drop by the Multi-Purpose Room and engage with FIVE THOUSAND DOMINOES! Build a domino run, or a house, or anything you can think of!
Maker City
Maker City is a collaborative project where we build a cityscape in real-time during AACME! We are inviting attendees to use scraps, cardboard, markers, felt, foam and other objects (all provided) to create a building and place it somewhere in our city.
Cardboard T-Rex Robots
Join us in the story corner to build an actuated T-Rex puppet that really moves!
12pm - 2pm
Screen Printing Demonstration
Observe a screen printing demonstration from a local artist and grab a screen-printed bag with the AACME logo!
Floor Loom Demonstration
Try out a giant floor loom at AACME! Sit down and learn the basics of weaving with this hands-on demonstration guided by a master weaver.
