tu-tu submitted by lekendrick on June 25, 2010, 4:36pm solid as usual! Bit sleepy in parts wonderful teasing puzzle as to what harry's nature is good or evil! A turn by villain humanizing in delivery, but making all the more aware of role deception versus wish be pure of heart plays in how a life might unfold!

Read the books first
submitted by ferdoble on August 2, 2011, 5:41pm
These are ok. I was hard on them at first because of the corny computer animation and what I thought were bad decisions on what to put in (and I still feel that way). Not to mention that its hard to find good actors in the 10 and 11 range.
But the movies get better and better and all the way to being pretty good. To the point where I now look forward to watching the last of them. Well, not really looking forward to the last of them, it was too sad a book for me to really want to see the movie.
If I can say one thing it’s that you should read the books first. The real magic is in those books, I think that you’ll miss out on a lot if you do it the other way round.
And neither of the actors playing Dumbledoor got it right. I’m not sure if a human could, but neither one of them even got close.
= submitted by yellowdog0809 on August 7, 2011, 6:03pm AWESOME BOOK
Good, but read the books first submitted by jkl on August 10, 2011, 3:34pm You should really read the books first, it will let you imagine things on you own! I really liked this movie it was one of the better ones in the series, with a great plot (duh), decent special effects and really good acting. Seemed like some of the important parts were missing but it's kinda hard to fit everything in.
AWESOME submitted by esgzn1 on August 17, 2011, 9:04am I LOVED IT SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
great movie submitted by jszchen on August 18, 2011, 9:16pm I love all the harry potter films
Exciting submitted by mrsaturns on June 16, 2012, 11:32am This is one of the best stories out of the seven. It foreshadows to events in the seventh book, and it shows readers a real picture of what Voldemort is like.
the best! submitted by pbapat on June 16, 2012, 2:19pm this is the best book i so far i read
NICE! submitted by leehannah on June 17, 2012, 6:19pm This is probably my favorite movie of all times. It's so action packed and so emotional. I really liked how Harry saved Ginny, and that was probably my favorite part, which also made me LOVE this movie so much! I think that J.K. Rowling did an excellent job on this series and this movie and the book made me want to continue reading and watching the rest.

scary to a kid submitted by csheilac on July 13, 2016, 9:00pm I remember watching this when I was younger and being too scared to finish it, so probably not the best movie to show young kids.
Chamber of Secrets submitted by staceylbrockman on July 16, 2016, 1:34pm Not quite as good as the later movies, but still a good watch
cool submitted by kokoro morinaga on August 8, 2016, 11:21am I like it.
Good movie submitted by chioma on June 29, 2017, 2:52pm While some other reviews may say that this isn't such a great movie, this movie is about as good as it gets! It's a coversion of the book, and it's very hard to do everything exactly like how it is in the book, but for the most part, its a good movie! It has action, friendship, wand fighting, and this is the early stages of Harry'f battle against Voldemort. This movie seems to be a building block to the other movies, and the other movies are a building block to the last one. Watching Harry Potter is almost like watching a Netfix show, but I assure you, it's way better.
best book submitted by rite2leks on July 5, 2017, 5:16pm Best book ever
A Solid Adaptation submitted by Meginator on July 9, 2017, 4:18pm This movie is another solid adaptation from the Harry Potter series. I didn't agree with some of the stylistic and plot choices (with regard to what's in the books), but cinema is a different medium than literature and the beauty of the latter is that everyone experiences it somewhat differently. I agree with a previous reviewer that the quidditch scenes are exceptionally long, but other than that I think the filmmakers did as good a job as can be expected condensing such a dense book into a film of a reasonable length. The acting from the main trio is still a bit raw at this point, but it's clear that they are each growing into their art and, besides, their chemistry is fantastic and convincing. A lot of thought and careful consideration went into this series, and the general tone of the film fits the tone of the book; it's still relatively light at this point in the series, and it works well here. I'm continually impressed by how good the early Harry Potter films are, all things considered, and this one is no exception.
So good submitted by accountsfpd on August 12, 2017, 10:06am This movie is so good. I would definitely recommend!
One of the best of the series submitted by lswatts42 on August 12, 2017, 12:20pm One of my favorites from the series.
Amazing submitted by unknown on July 20, 2018, 9:43pm This book is both funny and mysterious, a great movie!
Magical submitted by anacoluthon on August 20, 2018, 1:13am A great follow-up to the first movie! Kenneth Branagh plays the over-the-top Lockhart wonderfully.
11/10 submitted by elizabeth mayhew on August 23, 2018, 1:27am Drama! Intrigue! More bad teachers! Cool new creatures! I still have no clue as to how Aragog was created, but he still creeps me out to this day. 11/10 for both faithful reproduction and great creatures!
Great addition to the series! submitted by Xris on August 26, 2018, 12:59am Interesting things we learn about Harry and how he changed when Voldemort tried to kill him. Love the actual Chamber of Secrets and how they turned what Rowling described into a beautifully dark scene. My favorite new character is Moaning Myrtle!
This movie turned my wife off of Harry Potter submitted by valjean on August 27, 2018, 1:02am I think if there is a movie to skip, this is the one. Once you see who the villain is, you realize 'oh.. from now on, basically this guy will always be the villain, there's no mystery.' and that can really turn you off. It might be worth coming back to later, once you already know more about the overall metaplot of the Harry Potter series so you can enjoy the atmosphere and world-building instead of being focused on the mystery of the story.
it was good submitted by G.Ham on July 1, 2019, 12:20pm so gooooooooood
adventurous submitted by ramesh_anmulwad on July 20, 2019, 11:34am i think all the harry potter movies are adventurous and if you love adventure stuff, this is a book for you.
Great Movie submitted by Lila F. on August 4, 2019, 5:59am This is one of the best Harry Potter movies out there!

Ok submitted by maxence07 on June 12, 2021, 10:14am It was pk
good movie submitted by Aimless on June 13, 2021, 5:28pm although this is a fun movie, it leaves out so much of the nuance of the book. but definitely worth your time. obviously if you are even remotely interested in Harry Potter you have already seen this movie, I don't know why you're reading reviews about it

I Hate Harry Potter Now I'm A Twilight Fan. submitted by Shaylane Webb on June 27, 2022, 8:46pm I Hate Harry Potter Because The Movies Were Bad And Scary For Me To See Now I'm A Twilight Fan I Will Be A Twilight Fan Forever Even Though The Movies Are Over And Done With But I'm On Team Edward And Not Jacob And My Mom And My Older Brother Lance They Like Harry Potter They Saw All The Movies And Did Read All The Books.
I enjoy this one! submitted by Abbie D. on June 29, 2022, 10:32am If you liked the first one, you'll love this one! They kept all the great plot twists taken from the books. Wish Ginny Weasley was in it a bit more like in the books, along with some pretty funny scenes that were cut in the book to movie transition. However, it does a stick fairly close to the book where it matters!
Not my favorite submitted by wilcomea on July 19, 2022, 3:47pm Still sweet to see the kids getting older, but for me this one wasn't the best- not a huge fan of spiders either!
