One of the Great Graphic Novels submitted by crazypockets on July 7, 2012, 11:40am This series has been phenomenal. It's been recommended to me several times, and I finally got to reading it. I really like the character of the Sandman (or Morpheus or Dream) and the unique idea behind the series. The art is great. This is not recommended for children, however.

My Favorite Graphic Novel Series! submitted by vmclaugh on June 24, 2018, 12:34am Terrific series, with a bit of a slow start in the first volume. The Sandman series includes characters from different types of mythology, fantasy worlds, and religious texts to create this convoluted, mulit-volume tale in several different worlds. Fantastical, surrealist, and occasionally quite dark, I thoroughly enjoy this series, especially as someone who used it as a starting point to get into Gaiman's writing. Truly wonderful in every way.

Amazing submitted by majean on August 16, 2018, 3:10pm Sandman is one of the first American graphic novels that I read in middle school. It had quite the impact on me and my friends!

Great starting point for Sandman submitted by valjean on August 26, 2018, 11:03am The nice thing about this volume, compared to the Absolute and Omnibus collections the AADL also has available, is that it's only 8 issues. So, it's much easier to carry around or even just hold to read while at home. I would recommend reading them all separately in this format. Otherwise, the volume itself is quite good, Gaiman does a great job of easing you into the world of the Endless and Morpheus. Do not get intimidated by the length of the series, you will be through it in no time. Grab this one

Pure Gaiman submitted by pk on June 30, 2021, 11:00am I am not a graphic novel or comic book reader, but am a big fan of Neil Gaiman's books. I wanted to see "where it all started" and picked up The Sandman. This is great fun reading, and you can see the hand of Gaiman in this early work. If you like Gaiman's other books, give this a try!
