Narrated by Johnny Heller.
Most people think 15-year-old Charlie is a freak. The only friend he had killed himself, forcing him to face high school alone. But then seniors Patrick and his beautiful stepsister Sam take Charlie under their wings and introduce him to their eclectic, open-minded, hard-partying friends. It is from these older kids that Charlie learns to live and love, until a repressed secret from his past threatens to destroy his newfound happiness.

Teen Fiction is Not for Me submitted by schoenbaechlere on August 11, 2011, 7:47am I didn't really care for this book. I forced myself to listen to half but that was all I could take.
the mind of a 15/16 year old
submitted by LVDS on July 28, 2016, 8:32am
Enter the early 1990's....an interesting perspective, honest reflections....the main character is writing "us" letter his "Dear Friend" about life & friends in high school.
Oh to remember those anxieties :-( Glad I'm much older. I listened to this on CD as my daughter said it described so well how she often felt in HS.
This is written for teens...but BEWARE parents, there's LOTS of alcohol, smoking , drugs & sex. I guess too many are influenced by these anyway too early in our culture.
Pretty Good submitted by c_zhang on June 28, 2019, 2:39pm I really like the book, but the narration wasn't my favorite.
