Good! submitted by purplelily on June 12, 2015, 8:29am Amy Poehler is hilarious and it's refreshing to read her words about her kids and life as an actress. She's very down to earth and the book was a funny quick read.

Funny and Uplifting submitted by Beth Manuel on June 12, 2015, 12:22pm Amy Poehler shared some funny stories & some serendipitous encounters she had early in her career in addition to sharing what it was like for her growing up in Massachusetts. She's very funny and honest. I loved the format, as she had some people special to her contribute to the book like Seth Myers and Amy's mother. One odd thing about the book that I found was that it was heavy! The paper they used in the book is thick or something. It was heavier than other books with more pages. Literally, not figuratively.

awesome funny lady submitted by manz on July 2, 2015, 11:50am I loved this book! I read it and then later listened to it on tape. Amy Poehler is just amazing.

Better than I expected submitted by mmckenzie on July 9, 2015, 1:09pm Turns out Amy can write a book -- well! A good mix of her past and bits of info to roll around one's brain, like notes from your 90 year old self to your current self. Funny and worth the time.

Hilarious, As Expected submitted by 0liviap0pp on June 21, 2016, 2:40pm What more could you ask for from Amy Poehler? One of America's top comedians is back at it again, now with illustrations, report cards, notes, and anecdotes from her childhood and comic years too. The book on CD is also a great companion to this.

Funny and refreshing submitted by abenson on July 1, 2016, 5:09pm I'll start off with saying that I love Amy Poehler. She is brilliant, hilarious, creative, and hard-working, and I thought that her personality was captured well in "Yes Please."

The reason I gave her book four stars instead of five is because the writing is odd, which is okay, but I wish I had known before I started reading. She went on tangents and some of the writing was basically a stream of consciousness, to the point where it felt disjointed.

Overall, I would recommend this book to those who are already fans of Poehler because it is charming and has ridiculously funny anecdotes from her life. However, because of the way the book is written and organized, I don't think I'd recommend for someone who isn't as familiar with her.

Great! submitted by evie2017 on August 25, 2017, 6:50pm Amy is great, so why shouldn't her book be? I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Hilarious.

Oddly I kept thinking "Leslie Knope wouldn't say that" and had to remind myself that this was the real Amy talking! :-)

Amy! submitted by KOH on August 27, 2017, 11:25pm She is hilarious and a total gem!

I was hoping for more... submitted by camelsamba on August 30, 2020, 10:58pm I listened to this as an audiobook because it was "available now" in overdrive. I was annoyed by the prologue, where she goes on and on about how hard it is to write a book. I should have taken that as a cue for what was to follow. I was expecting to laugh more, and I suppose I expected more about Parks & Rec (being on the low end of cultural literacy, I wasn't very familiar with Amy's other work). But it was enjoyable to listen to her read the book - I doubt I would have finished a print edition.

Good… submitted by Bethybeth07 on June 24, 2023, 10:45pm It’s a good book but I think I anticipated more from her.

Amazing submitted by aayushis on July 21, 2023, 12:45am Funny and also gives insight into life of comedian
