Rain Gardens Nature Walk

Thursday September 21, 2017: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm -- Miller Avenue Rain Gardens

This event is intended for all ages

We will meet at 1916 Miller Avenue, Ann Arbor (across from Bruce) and will tour the rain gardens between the sidewalk and the street and also highlight a few nearby residential rain gardens.

Come learn how these rain gardens work, what plants you can find inside them, and more! We will mostly stay on the sidewalk, but dress comfortably and bring water if desired.

The walk will be led by Catie Wytychak and Susan Bryan from the Water Resources Commissioner's Office, and is part of the AADL's partnership with Washtenaw County

3D Printing Lab: Open Lab

Drawing for Adults

This event is intended for grade 9 - adult

Come draw with us! We'll provide everything you need to practice your drawing skills. In this session you'll explore patterns using Micron pens and drawing pencils.

Every week we’ll cover a different topic. You’ll learn different techniques to tackle texture, chiaroscuro, and perspective, plus improve your sense of composition, lighting, and form. You'll get the chance to try out different mediums like pencil, charcoal, and pastel. All skill levels are welcome to participate.

Emerging Writers: Writing and Review Meet-Up

Monday September 25, 2017: 7:00 pm to 8:45 pm -- Westgate Branch: West Side Room

This event is intended for grade 6 - adult

Come with questions, a work in progress, or an empty notebook. All writers are welcome in this casual, supportive environment. Authors Bethany Neal and Alex Kourvo will be on hand to answer questions and give encouragement. This is an excellent opportunity to meet your fellow Ann Arbor writers as well as get feedback from published authors.

This is a monthly meet-up that welcomes all writers to ask questions, connect with other writers, or simply have a dedicated time and place to work on their projects.

Sewing Lab

Join us for an evening of sewing.

We will have our lab's machines set up and staff will be on hand to show you the basics. You can bring a project you've been working on, or just stop by to practice your stitches.

We welcome all skill levels. No prior knowledge is necessary. You are free to bring your own sewing machine and join our growing sewing community.
