Nature Walk at Furstenburg Nature Area

This event is intended for all ages

This long, narrow nature area along the Huron River has many beautiful open areas, where habitats like prairies, a mitigated wetland, and even a sedge meadow are accessible via paths and boardwalks.

Learn more broadly about this beautiful nature area at this event. Staff from City of Ann Arbor Natural Area Preservation will lead a family-friendly nature walk through the woods.

Please meet in the parking lot off Fuller Road. Wear comfortable clothes and bring water if desired. The nature walks are a collaboration between the AADL and Natural Area Preservation that take place once a month April through September. Some of AADL’s Science Tools will be available for use during the walk!

Emerging Writers: Writing and Review Meet-Up

This event is intended for grade 6 - adult

Come with questions, a work in progress, or an empty notebook. All writers are welcome in this casual, supportive environment. Authors Bethany Neal and Alex Kourvo will be on hand to answer questions and give encouragement. This is an excellent opportunity to meet your fellow Ann Arbor writers as well as get feedback from published authors.

This is a monthly meet-up that welcomes all writers to ask questions, connect with other writers, or simply have a dedicated time and place to work on their projects.

Nature Walk at Argo Nature Area

This 22.5 acre preserve contains an interesting combination of habitats, including emergent wetland, mesic forest, and oak-hickory forest. Harvester butterflies have been seen here in the summer. They are the only butterflies in North America with carnivorous caterpillars!

Come learn more about the habitat that supports these fascinating creatures at this family-friendly nature walk! Meet in the parking lot north of the Argo Canoe Livery, off Longshore Drive. Wear comfortable clothes and bring water if desired.
