Description
How does food that would otherwise go to waste from more than 300 local sources—including food retailers, restaurants, and food wholesalers—get sorted and delivered to 150 non-profit agencies and programs providing direct food assistance in the form of hot meals, nutritious snacks, or emergency groceries to low-income adults, seniors, and children in Washtenaw County? Join us to find out!
As the food rescue and food bank program serving Washtenaw County, Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community. Learn about its mission, history, and operations, and check out their expansive food warehouse. Transportation is not provided, but the location has plenty of onsite parking and is accessible by AAATA Route 22.
Space is limited and registration is required by emailing fieldtrip@aadl.org. Directions will be provided upon registration.
